(778) 772-8797 - hello@ponderosacounselling.ca
Hi, I’m Jess, a Registered Counsellor with over 15 years of training and experience supporting teens, adults and seniors in a therapeutic setting.
I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and low self-worth. My compassionate and knowledgeable approach offers a safe space to feel seen and understood, while providing practical tools that foster relief, clarity, and renewed confidence moving forward.
My work is integrative and holistic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, and mindfulness. In our sessions, clients are supported to process emotions and thoughts, transform limiting beliefs, heal inner wounds, deepen awareness of their needs and boundaries, regulate the nervous system, and gain meaningful insight.
Those I work with often share that they feel safe and at ease opening up with me, appreciate my grounded and calm presence, and notice meaningful progress in their overall well-being.
Meet Dr. Heidi:
I am originally from Prince George, BC and received two of my three degrees (BA and MA) from the University of Northern British Columbia. I had the pleasure of working in my field (Anthropology) for the larger part of 15 years before deciding to change my career. I have always had a passion for medicine, but in my work with people living with HIV, I felt drawn to a more holistic approach to health and wellness than I felt I could find in the conventional medical education system. I graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in June 2018 - going in and leaving with the intent to create a clinic where everyone felt welcome and heard. Community is important to me, and so, was thrilled to be able to open Foundations Naturopathic Health in my community, New Westminster.
